The Backpack

How to Stop Carrying Emotional Burdens That Were Never Meant to Be Yours

Imagine walking with a backpack strapped to your shoulders.

At first, it feels light. Manageable.

Then every time something bothers you...you say, “I can handle it,” you add a brick.

Hurt feelings? Brick.

Worry? Brick.

Frustration? Brick.

Soon, the pack is heavy, but you’ve convinced yourself, “I can still carry it.”

Here’s the contrarian truth:

Strong people just carry on.

Jesus Christ says, “Cast all your cares on Me, because I care for you” (1 Peter 5:7).

We were never meant to carry offense, fear, or silent rehearsals of pain.

The Designer of your heart already knows what troubles you.

He isn’t annoyed when you run to Him; He delights in it.

Like a Father, He loves when His children trust Him with the smallest details.

The world tells you to toughen up.

But the Kingdom tells you to lighten up, literally.

The cross was the final weight-bearing act. Jesus already carried what you’re dragging.

The question is: are you still filling your backpack, or are you ready to empty it at His feet?

Sinner’s Prayer

“Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God.

You died for my sins and rose again on the third day.

I surrender my life and every burden I’ve been carrying.

Rule and reign in every area of my heart.

I choose You as my Lord and Savior, now and forever.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
