When God Puts You in Rooms Your Confidence Isn’t Ready For
By Jackie Overstreet • December 3, 2025

Part 6: Growth always arrives before comfort does
There comes a moment in your walk with God when He sends you somewhere your confidence hasn’t caught up to yet.
Not because you’re unqualified,
but because His preparation is ahead of your self-perception.
It’s the strangest feeling,
being called into spaces that feel bigger than your history
yet perfectly sized for your destiny.
You look around and think,
“How did I get here?”
Heaven answers,
“You’re exactly where I placed you.”
This is where Soul Esteem starts speaking louder than self-esteem.
Self-esteem measures your worth by your past.
Soul esteem recognizes your worth by His calling.
Self-esteem says, “I’m not sure I belong.”
Soul esteem says, “If God sent me, the room already belongs to me.”
And here’s the quiet truth most people never say out loud:
Sometimes God promotes your position before He promotes your self-image.
Why?
Because if confidence was a prerequisite,
many of us would stay parked in seasons we’ve outgrown.
He moves you anyway.
And then He shapes you on the inside to match where He placed you on the outside.
You’ll know you’re in one of those seasons when:
• You feel stretched but not broken
• You feel quiet but not small
• You feel humbled but not diminished
• You feel aware, alert, and deeply awake
• You’re paying closer attention to what God is doing than what people are saying
• Your spirit feels bigger than your words
Let me tell you something that will free your mind:
Being chosen doesn’t always feel glamorous.
Sometimes it feels like being exposed to a bigger version of yourself.
This is why Soul Esteem matters.
Soul Esteem teaches you how to walk with spiritual posture even when your emotions feel unsure.
It teaches you to rely less on your comfort and more on your clarity.
It teaches you to show up without shrinking.
It teaches you to believe that obedience outweighs insecurity every time.
Because God is not preparing you for a moment.
He’s preparing you for mastery.
And mastery doesn’t come from perfection.
It comes from willingness.
Willingness to trust Him.
Willingness to stand tall in unfamiliar places.
Willingness to grow into the assignment.
Willingness to hold the door open for the next woman coming behind you.
If you’re reading this and sensing God is nudging you into something that feels bigger than your confidence, lean in.
Not every season comes with an explanation.
Some seasons come with expectation.
The expectation that you’ll rise.
That you’ll stretch.
That you’ll show up with quiet courage.
That you’ll remember who sent you.
And here is the beauty of it all:
The room doesn’t validate you.
God did that before you walked in.
Your job is simple.
Walk with Him.
Grow with Him.
Trust the process.
Let the Spirit steady the soul.
Because the more you show up,
the more you’ll realize:
You weren’t placed there to audition.
You were placed there to occupy.
